Moldovans abroad invited to apply to the Global Forum for Migration and Development
Moldovans living abroad still have a few more hours to apply for the Global Forum for Migration and Development in Istanbul.
Contest call for selecting a participant as a representative delegate from the Diaspora of the Republic of Moldova, within the thematic session of the Global Forum for Migration and Development (GFMD), dedicated to civil society, is launched by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the Office of Relations with Diaspora (ORD).

Global Forum for Migration and Development is an intergovernmental dialogue format on migration and development, considered one of the most important platforms for formulating migration policies globally.

The participation requirements for Diaspora representatives are: academic or professional experience in the field of migration and development, mobilizing Diaspora; advanced knowledge of English and professional experience within the institutions or international organizations is an advantage.

Interested people will send at dorin.toma@gov.md the following documents (in English): personal CV and a motivation letter (max. 4000 characters) which will include the presentation of the message and theme for discussion at the event, and a brief history of personal experience in the field of migration and development.

Global Forum for Migration and Development will take place on October 12-13 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The deadline for applications is September 1, 18:00.

Carmelia Albu – Ombudsman of the Public Broadcaster „Teleradio-Moldova”, in the service of community

Ombudsman service is an independent source of information, explanation and analysis of the Public Broadcaster’s programs and adherence to European standards and practices of broadcasting programs’ development.

Ombudsman is a mediator who handles complaints between a televiewer /radio-listener or a group of people and the Broadcaster. Ombudsman replies to the questions of TV viewers and Radio-listeners, receives and reviews complaints from people.

“Ombudsman” was first used in its modern sense in 1809 when the Swedish Parliament established the office of Justitieombudsman, who was to look after citizens’ interests in their dealings with government.

Later, in 1988, a similar service was established in media in France. It was a real "explosion” that caused the appearance of similar services in other world countries.
