Mayors from Straseni trained within project initiated by Bessarabian students in Ploiesti
League of Bessarabian Students in Ploiesti, in partnership with the Mayoralty of Straseni, continue the campaign titled "Youth for the Future". This project is dedicated to informing local authorities and civil society in the Republic of Moldova on the financial benefits of European integration of our state which arise from the possibility of accessing the EU funds.
The symposium, which will present types of European funding and projects that can be implemented on this basis, will be held on February 19 in Straseni.

To attend the event promised mayor of Straseni Valentina Casian, chairman of the District Council of Straseni Petru Volosciuc and mayors of all municipalities in the district.

Benefits and opportunities for local and regional development, arising from the EU, will be presented by Georgiana Tanase, Romanian expert in European funds. Romanian will be represented by Senator Viorel Badea, Commission Vice-President for Romanians Abroad of the Romanian Parliament.

The first symposium conducted by Bessarabian Students League in Ploiesti, in partnership with the Criuleni District Council held on October 31, 2013, was attended by over 25 mayors and district authorities from Criuleni district.

"I was impressed by the mayors of Criuleni. They were very open and receptive. We have great expectations from the event in Straseni. I understand the importance of European funds and how much they would help in developing the Republic of Moldova. The idea of ​​organizing this symposium was warmly received by the authorities of Straseni. We started this project, because we, the youth, want a better future for our children. We advocate a European Moldova, a strong state to take care of its civil society," said Iacob Cerlat, President Bessarabian Students League in Ploiesti.

League of Bessarabian Students in Ploiesti is a non-governmental, non-profit, apolitical organization, founded in 2010, representing the students who study in Ploiesti. It aims to support pupils and students from Moldova to integrate in the Romanian society and implement common ideas in various training projects and socio-cultural activities. Bessarabian Students League in Ploiesti is a member of the Federation of Bessarabian Associations in Romania.

Carmelia Albu – Ombudsman of the Public Broadcaster „Teleradio-Moldova”, in the service of community

Ombudsman service is an independent source of information, explanation and analysis of the Public Broadcaster’s programs and adherence to European standards and practices of broadcasting programs’ development.

Ombudsman is a mediator who handles complaints between a televiewer /radio-listener or a group of people and the Broadcaster. Ombudsman replies to the questions of TV viewers and Radio-listeners, receives and reviews complaints from people.

“Ombudsman” was first used in its modern sense in 1809 when the Swedish Parliament established the office of Justitieombudsman, who was to look after citizens’ interests in their dealings with government.

Later, in 1988, a similar service was established in media in France. It was a real "explosion” that caused the appearance of similar services in other world countries.
